Welcome to Beyond Angola.
Born in Angola. Raised between Namibia, the US, and Norway. Shaped further by Ireland and Germany. My life has been lived across continents, languages, and identities, deeply African and profoundly global at once.
For years I carried the question so many Third Culture Kids know well: where do I actually belong? Too African in some rooms, not African enough in others. Understood on the surface, rarely fully seen. Growing up between worlds taught me how to adapt and connect anywhere, but it also left me chasing something harder to define: home.
Then it hit me. Belonging isn’t something you find in a passport or a single postcode. It’s something you build. Beyond Angola is that build, out loud.
Here, I write about identity, culture, growth, career, travel, money, and what it really looks like to live as an African woman across the globe. The wins and the wobbles. The loneliness and the beautiful chaos. The unspoken stuff nobody warns you about when you move abroad, and the joy nobody warns you about either.
This space is for the in-betweeners. The TCKs, immigrants, expats, and diaspora who’ve ever felt split between worlds. You don’t have to choose. You can carry every place that made you and still keep growing.
Because you can belong everywhere and still belong to yourself.
Glad you’re here. Let’s figure it out together.
